Commander’s Comments

It is great to see so many new faces in the post.  We even had two kind souls volunteer to mow the lawn. Now we need some interested individuals to submit their names for nominations for officer positions at our April elections.  The success of any organization rests on the officers.  Election of officers is conducted in April to allow for the orientation and training for the leadership positions during the coming fraternal year.  Come out and vote; better than that – come out and put your name in the hat and be a leader.

Auxiliary President’s Comments

Thanks to all of you who attended the Auxiliary Meeting last month.  We initiated 12 new members: Bruce Fisher, Steve Fisher, Jose Casado, E.J. McManaman, Mark Shivers, Tammy Mrozinski, Jimmy Mrozinski, Elaine Gleim, Dolores Edinger, Bill Minitch, Ken Sidebottom and Gary Anderson.
I congratulate and welcome each of you. Thanks to the other members in attendance for taking the oath again with our new members.

I greatly appreciate those of you that showed your support and attended the community awards banquet. Jose Casado, Barbara Jackson and Jimmy Mrozinski reported on the memorial area that will be built at the top of hill by the flag poles.  A motion was passed to give a donation to PVES.

We will hold our officer nominations and elections this month at our meeting on April 16th for the 2016-2017 Auxiliary year (1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017). Please consider stepping up and taking an officer or chairmanship position. Our Auxiliary really needs help filling positions this year. If you volunteer for a position we will train you. In addition, there is annual formal training in Austin with our Dept Officers in July. I’ll provide more details on this training at our May meeting. We also desperately need cooks next year for Wed taco dinners and 3rd Sat dinners.

Remember what we are here for.  Let’s work together and make this Auxiliary even better next year. We have over 320 members and need more of them to step up and help make it successful. Remember to thank a veteran for his or her service.
